Sigh... plans, ideas, and other cute stuff

So lately I've been scouring the numerous wedding blogs out there for inspiration, and let me tell you, there are tons of cute ideas. My ideal reception will be a reflection of me: a little cutesy, crafty, creative, and classic. I want to include my sentiments of saving the world and saving a little cash, too. I have found the most creative ladies out there typing up useful and sassy info about all things wedding. So I'll share with you what I think will work for Shawn & I.

Last night we went through some ideas and agreed on a few. They are totally easy to make!

I like this idea for our reception, especially like having our vows up there:

Now the red was for a Christmas party, and looks a little like something out of the Shining, so I was thinking light gray or silver.

Love it!

On the table, I would love to have fresh herbs that guests could add to their food. I've got numerous projects in our yard. I think it would be cute to add potted plants with long ribbons as centerpieces or better yet, add these beauties:

Who wouldn't love to take home a teacup brimming with life? I'm really into plants lately. Its weird, the older I get the more I want to garden and bake. Where is this coming from???
Truth is, I've always loved the idea of growing my own food. The economy of it, the freedom of not being subject to the grocer's selection. I love knowing where things come from, and the treatment of the people bring it to you. (ok off subject, focus) Plus, I love cake, so I want to become a better baker.

How Cute is that?????

We also found a cute idea for save the dates (which I find might be helpful for my local friends as well, everyone needs a little help remembering). Shawn didn't care for the photoshop googly eyes image I made. I cropped his head a bit too much. But the fact that he's loving it makes me feel better in having a partner who likes a project as much as I do ('cause there's alot alot a l o t of work ahead)!

Shawn in St. Louis

So my hubbs is in training this week. He passed his series 66 last week and has one more certification exam. I miss him terribly but am not lonely. I have by guard dog to keep me company.

We move this weekend. Finally, the Bull will have a yard again.

It will be a packed week. I don't even wanna think about it!

The best news of the past six weeks!

He Passed!

Shawn passed the series 7. He said a huge weight has been lifted off his shoulders. I'm glad he can relax a bit without feeling guilty.

Now he will prepare for the series 66, but this will be a bit easier.

A Hectic Week

This past Monday I started a new job - Edward Jones - and have been studying for the Series 7 exam (12+ hours a day). Leilani has been very sweet and supportive. She is committed to helping me be successful with Edward Jones, and for that I am indebted to working towards improving the quality of our life together.

Today, it was just a Leilani and Shawn day - spending quality time together. I told her this week Sunday was all hers, and we really enjoyed the day. We went to look for her a nice camera to use in an art class she's taking. Cameras are not cheap...especially the kind she was looking for. I did happen to take a look at some HDTV's while at Best Buy and Sears. Now, I am sure everybody knows how expensive the suckers can be. I am also sure with a few new 100k Edward Jones accounts signed up I would be able to swing it. Well, that is the plan. Anyway, I am committed to being flexible with work and my family time. Thus, I may work 70 hours a week with EDJ, but I will always make time for my penguin and Bushy a.k.a Bully.

Snow days in the NC

It snowed a few inches about a week before Christmas. It was pretty but I made the mistake of going out to the grocery store during the snow. Luckily, Shawn was coming around the corner where I was stuck on a hill. I am determined to master snow driving! We don't really get snow days....
What is funny are the piles of dirty ice in parking lots and shady areas still all over town.

Papa Shawn is outfitting Bully with snowboots.

He's already over it.

Papa laughs at Bully's expense.

Is that a Llama? With boots?

Picture perfect. That's Buster on the right, Shawn's mother's dog.

One month.

Happy Anniversary, Shawn!
Love,
Wubbs.

We had lunch with a couple, Al & Cindy, that will celebrate their 37th wedding anniversary  on wednesday. We mentioned our one month, to which Al replied, "that'll get old real quick."
I know!  Are you tired of us yet?
