Happy Bridesmaid

Seeing as how I never wore those David's Bridal gowns ever again, I firmly believe a short dress will look equally stunning beside your wedding gown and in photos. I just hope  a happy teenager is wearing my old gowns to prom.  Brides, please be kind.

Here are some dresses and accessories that I would happily volunteer to buy, if I were ever a bridesmaid again. Twist my arm, please.

find it [here].

Sorry so small, but click on the link to see more detail.

These are becoming addictive. I just may make inspiration boards themed for every day errands,  let's say, "grocery list," or "what's for dinner."

I am thinking about one especially made for hubby. I will call it, "Do the dishes."

Uh-Oh, BHLDN Moodboards!

I am sure you've been to BHLDN's website by now. If you haven't, here are some situations in which a visit is a must:
If you are
1. Planning your wedding,
2. Helping plan a wedding,
3. In a wedding,
4. Married, but still addicted to all things "wedding."

(FYI, Category four is perfectly acceptable.)

Then you must take a look at the mood board tool. You can gather inspirational images from your own collection of those of BHLDN's, and make a board to guide you through planning process. Or you can do what I did and spend hours making boards and wishing you were a foot model so you could wear all those fabulous Chie Mihara and Vivenne Westwood shoes for a paycheck.
It was so easy! You can make them "public," or "private.' Work on them as long as you like to get your desired effect.
Here are mine:
I call this first one "Dance with Me."

The next one is called "Soft Surprises." It's very textural, and soft to the eye. A few things are soft to the touch. Guess what they are.

And this last one tells our story. I call it "Let's run away together."

Can be found [here].

We didn't really run away together, though. We stayed here.  It turned out eloping isn't as romantic as it sounds...but it makes for a great mood board!

BTW, the BHLDN store opens this fall in Houston! Maybe I'll stop by when I pay my Houston family a visit.

Everyday is the 14th

but...not everyday do we get to remember this song:

and eat treats such as these:
oreo cake pop bouquet
  (will post the how-to later!)

And the long awaited BHLDN line!
The tiered tulip gown (reminiscent of Tuxedo bedding?) for $2400.
and the Aqueous Colum Dress, $800
we can still dream, right?

Now I gotta go make breakfast for my hubbs. He's pouting as I sit with my back towards him, blogging. Belgian waffles and turkey sausage, coming up.

Lullaby

Laugardalsholl 2005
As I've visited the BHLDN website, I've become more and more in love with the sweet lullaby that greets the curious visitor. I just left the site up an let it play. Meanwhile, Hubbs almost fell asleep beside me.
It's Amiina from Reykajvik . Of course they're from Iceland.
Check out their Myspace page here.
And the song  What are we waiting for here:

It gets a bit more dramatic towards the end. Fairy-like drama.
I want this to be the soundtrack to my life.

(Hellllllloooo, Myspace.)

Anthropologie's Sister prepares to marry

Imagine this:
Anthropologie's spring '10 Beda Dress
  Crossed with this:
Oscar de La Renta
 Well, maybe not exactly.
But, then again, who knows? I'm pretty sure Oscar isn't designing for BHLDN just yet, though.
The dreamers behind Anthropologie will release their new sister brand BHLDN, the wedding brand, on-line this
February 14!
Lovely.
So their talented collaborations with hmm..maybe Tracy Reese, may extend to this brand. Or imagine Leifsdottir pretty floral bridesmaids dresses?? Dammit, I 'm already married.

It will be exclusive on-line until this summer. Then, somewhere, some lucky city will host the first BHLDN store (maybe in the south?). I can spot an Anthro dress, accessory, or home item in every featured wedding on GreenWeddingShoes.com, so this is very appropriate. Long overdue, actually, especially for the woman who's needs weren't met by bridal shops. Women such as  myself, who chose a dress from here instead of the wedding gown. (And I'd wear it every single day if i could!)
Check out the preview shots on
www.bhldn.com (or click here).
and check our their Facebook page.
