Help him out
Last year, I wrote about planning ahead for the trifecta of holidays that November/December brings. Since Thanksgiving, my birthday, our wedding anniversary, and Christmas is all within a month, and will be until the end of time, there is some planning ahead to be done. I've just taken it upon myself to write in little reminders on the calendar, conveniently a few weeks ahead of the occasion. I think it helps, but we'll see this week ;).
Let's just hope our kids aren't born this time of year. They'll totally steal our thunder.

Thanksgiving Dinner
"We're gonna be here for a while, "
Says Hubbs at our Thanksgiving Buffet style dinner. His first round was a HEAPING plate of turkey, ham, roast, and potatoes and stuffing. This plate was cleaned. The second was close. I had a little of everything and dessert twice.
Because he and I work customer service, and retail, respectively, we can't travel to visit family during these days. Now there more miles between out families since we moved to Florida. So until we have that big inviting home and a little Shawlani, it's just the three of us. Except that Bully usually doesn't accompany us to restaurants.
I am so thankful for my family, especially my sweet, kind, Hubbs.
And I'm thankful there was no big kitchen clean up! Well, Cocoa Krispies ended up all over the floor as I crafted another Krispy turkey for a work potluck. Those things fly.

Datin' my Hubbs
At our friends' Georgia wedding. |
Love datin' my Hubbs.
Last week we had a really good conversation about what we wanted out of our marriage. The previous week had been stressful, kind of tired of each other, but couldn't be apart from each other all the same. So on the way to the beach, we had this really raw conversation with tears (well, just me) about how we wished we made each other feel, and vise versa. He told me what he wants from a wife and I listened. And I told him how I had been feeling.
The point of all this is that we were due for some tune-ups. It's almost two years, now and we wanna make to sixty. I want to be his dream wife, and I want him to be all I ever wanted in a man. So with some communication, we can be those things for each other. We just have to remember to impress each other, like as if we were on a date.
In fact, we've got a date to the movies tonight...I'm so excited...what should I wear?
