This weekend my mommy came to NC. We just hung around, visited some shops, met with the caterer and went out to eat a lot! Also,the Hubbs and I met with a DJ.

 ...and had a Smith Street Diner HUGE biscuit. They were real fresh 'cause it was early. YUM. Obvs, I took this home because I could only eat half of mine. This was Shawn's.

A wife obsessed, and another video

I think I am obsessed with my husband. I miss him while he's at work. A lot. I mean, I work a lot, too and have TONs of projects and a gym to ignore, so its not like I'm not busy. We have very different schedules at the moment.

So I often miss him.

And when we are together, I stare at him and tell him I love him constantly. I feel like this would annoy me, but he's very sweet.

So I watch this video while I am home, waiting for him to get home from work,even though I should be sleeping:



He's a little bit country, and I'm a little bit rock & roll. However, I love the twang he puts on a Beatles song. This was during his singer/songwriter days in Florida, around '99/2000.

I love his reason for performing the song. Sweet 24 year old Shawn ;)

He will be performing at the reception, but probably not this song. It's sad.

   Last Sunday, my friends married each other. It was a perfect day.

 Alison is beautiful, and made for a stunning bride.

But she will always be herself!

She was full of laughter all day, the most easygoing and happy bride I think I've ever known.

Things I've learned about gardening II

 7. Maybe plant lots of seedlings so if there's a time when you get lazy about your garden, you'll have more chances of survivors ;).

6. Stake everything! Yeah, buy those tomato cages. They grow into them before you know it.

5. So when your plants are about to die, they produce seeds, which you can plant again. My dying dill gave me little black seeds and my romaine produced little white fuzzies before they decided to give up on life.
4. You can compost hair, nails, eggshells, egg cartons, and toilet paper rolls.
3. Spinach and dill don't really like too much sun.
2. Green beans, unless grown in at least 20 plants or more, or in a bush are useless.
1. Milky sap on freshly cut lettuce is normal.

Updates from the Whitmires II

Some "official" numbers

I finally met with Addie my designer who may also turn out to be my coordinator. I love it. She has offered to design the layout. She is so sweet and I'm absolutely please at her enthusiasm.

We have a photographer in mind, Nick Sanders. He won the contest and I like his work. More on that when I hammer out all the details.

Details. "Its all in the details." Thats what every bridal magazine says. Details. Details can drive you nuts. So be careful,

Oh, speaking of bridal mags, what to do with them when you no longer need them? Donate, Give them to friends, thrift stores, and book stores. Book stores may even give you a credit. Or you can use them as filler for wedding gift boxes when you are giving china:


If you have a paper shredder, it look better, but You can just cut thin strips and crimp. These are mostly dress ads.

Then I placed sheets of houseware ads and articles on registries in between the plates in a T formation. I made sure to tape the ends so the plates are secure.

Then I put a cute little owl dishtowel on top. Because this couple is just this type of love bird.

Then I covered the box with twine, and make a flower, out of coffee filters!

Luckily, this bride appreciates twine and DIY projects. I probably wouldn't do this for a more formal shindig.
